I still occasionally dream about cigarettes, and I haven’t touched one in 7 months.
Don't give up,,,
I quit smoking in 2009 with hypnosis,,,
Absolutely the smartest thing I have ever done.

Never heard of APR, sounds like APA American Poolplayers Assoc. They have ratings like you described.
Sorry my friend,,,

It was just a typo,,,
APA is what I meant to type.

I told that off-hand pool story to my step-dad just before he passed away,,,
He laughed out loud and said "It runs in your family".

He and Mom were shuffleboard players,,,
They were both really dang good,,,
They played for money and won.

Mom broke her right arm in a car wreck,,,
So she had to learn how to shoot left handed,,,
According to Pop she was almost as good with her left as her right.

They started hustling using that,,,
I don't know how they set the hustle up,,,
But it always started with winning money from a guy using her left hand.

Mom was the shark winning the money,,,
Pop and his two brothers got them out alive with it.

I recently read a fantasy book where a money fencer did the same thing,,,
Barely winning with his off hand and then easily winning with his other hand.

So I guess the concept isn't a new one,,,
I had just never heard it before.

I remember when I was a kid(around 10 or 12) dad bought a pool table from the local bar that was closing. I got pretty damn good. We had all the local guys at our house. It was coin operated, but if you put a quarter in and wedge a penny under the coin thing, the balls would roll out for continuous play.

Of course, there would always be that new kid, who would come to play that first time, and like a dipshit, he would always pull the penny out. Then we would hafta put a quarter in and rig it all over again. :grumble:

I almost flunked out of college because of 9-ball. Started in high school playing snooker all-the-time. In our home town there was a snooker, pool tables pin ball establishment right downtown with huge picture windows so all could see who and what was going on. They even let our church youth group run it one night a week as a fund raiser.. Needless to say growing up playing snooker made those big pockets for 9-ball seem monstrous. It frustrates me to play now because my brain remembers what I used to be able to do but eye sight and lack of practice has taken a toll.
