If i do any deer hunting this year i will be using my Rem 22-250.
My 12 year old daughter uses a Contender Carbine in 223, I load Nosler solid base bullets that were purchased in like 84' when Skaggs Alpha Beta in Tulsa sold reloading supplies I think I used IMR4198 powder and loaded them fairly conservative. She can keep them within an inch at 75yds all day, and that is the important thing young shooter yes, comfortable with a rifle yes, filled two tags since she was ten yes! I have used a 300 WM for whitetail and it makes lots of noise in the woods, I think the 243 is just right for deer and I have shot many with it. Currently I am shooting an Encore with a Match Grade Machine barrel in 25-06 and it has yet to fail, it does ruin alot of meat on the armidillos though
