Why do so few gentlemen remove their hats indoors anymore?

I always wear a ballcap everywhere. I take it off in my house. If i have to "dress up" for any reason, i get haircut, shave and skip the hat. I avoid dressing up as much as possible.

I also take my shoes off or ask anytime im on carpet at some elses house.

I dont remove my hat unless the Pledge of Alligience and National Anthem are being recited, a funeral is driving by. Otherwise I wear my hat most all of the time as it is there for a reason, to cover my balding head.

I think the world would be a better place if everyone (including those wearing hats) would be mindful of those around them and where they are. Respect and courtesy never a bad thing.

I learned many moons ago that getting mad about what others do/don't do is a futile waste of energy, especially if it has no adverse affect on you whatsoever-IE wearing hats indoors.

I don't get angry when someone isn't behaving up to my standard, I forget it quickly and drive on, as there is more important things to occupy my thoughts.

I keep mine on to cover my hair or if it's uncomfortably cool somewhere. When my hair is cut, I usually don't wear a hat. When I do wear one, I sometimes forget to take it off. I've left a couple behind, too. I wouldn't hang my hat on a rack in a public place because people steal s***. When I take it off, I usually put it on my knee. I do know that a lot of young peoples' first jobs are fast food places and every fast food joint I've ever worked for required me to keep my hat on. It takes 3000 repetitions for something to become habit/muscle memory and so it's just hard to stop putting the darn thing on, too.
