Wichita Mountains

Got out of work early Thursday because of the storms. I'm staying at the lake near the Refuge, so I took a cruise through since I'd never been there before. Nice place, just wish the weather was a little cooler.

One of my favorite places to visit in OK.

GREAT motorcycle ride. Lots of wildlife. I've seen turkeys and roadrunners quite a few times.

Are there more roads there that I don't know about? My 1-ton Ford breezed through the main road. Not exactly what I would've thought of as good motorcycle roads.

Hell yes. There are some great twisties out there...some of my favorite are between Meers & Mt. Scott.

I heard Oklahoma had some mountains. I thought they may have meant a hill. I lived in Tulsa and laughed at the bump in the ground they call Shadow Mountain. My uncle told me he bought a 6 ft. step ladder so He could see the entire state.

I am going to have to head South because the photos show we really do have some mountains. I love the photos, especially of the rocky area. I suspect you really have to watch for rattlers

I used to backpack frequently in the Wichita Mtns.
It's a nice area.
