He may be.
I've been called worse.

OC helps to show the public that good people, other LE, carry. Do I feel this is a need? Yes. Why is it silly in an urban environment? Because I'm shoving a right into anothers face? Woopti do. I get their rights shoved in my face everyday, why can't I toss the coin at them? Because a gun is a symbol for evil, bad things? Well, even more a reason to strut around in my big boy pants with my pea shooter on my hip.

If I wanted to intimidate someone, I'd walk around in my Ultimate Fighter tee shirt and make people flinch.

If I were walking around with my .40 on my hip just to intimidate, would kind of defeat my purpose of getting the impression that good people carry guns.

If someone is strutting around with a gold plated, diamond gripped 1911 to impress people and to show it off.. Screw it, let them. If you have something nice strut the hell out of it. People do it with cars, trucks, houses women, why not guns? If it's a good looking beast, I wanna see it. I like checking out other peoples firearms, I'd bet most of you guys do as well. Why not have a gentleman discussion about it next time your wide makes you go into bed bath and beyond?

Besides, I carry a sig .40, other than the fact I never have an issue with it it's no ferrari.. Nor a corvette for that matter.

Forgive me for establishing my Constitutional right to the general public.

I'm so sick of the jacka** saying people who OC are attention seeking there maybe a few that are but I would say the vast majority are simply doing it because they can, it's easier, etc. I'm so sick of the LIBTARDS shoving their uneducated ignorant opinions down everyone's throats. It's legal get over it!

My experience with OC so far has been pretty much what I expected. No one really cares. I did have a couple of ladies "eyeballing" me in Wal Mart, and one "hippie chick" was giving me the stink-eye in Starbucks on Saturday.

We took our kids to the park yesterday evening and there was a big birthday party going on. There was one little kid playing with my son on the Jungle Gym that kept asking if he could see my gun. His dad asked me if I was cop. When I told him "no", he asked why I was carrying a gun. I had a great opportunity to educate him on the the OC law. He never acted threatened by the M&P 9mm on my hip. No one left screaming, "MAN WITH A GUN!". Again, no one at the park really cared....in a negative way. The libtards must be hating the lack of blood in the streets!

I agree with you.
I tried OC for a little bit , just felt uncomfortable to..me.
But I'm not unnecessarily concerned , carry a 44mag if that's what a person wants to do , Heck carry 2 .
I do ,just not 44 mag. (G30 and Taurus 6 shot snubby)
I believe it's a responsibility issue, i.e. your responsible , learn to be .
Not for me to tell people what to do, its Your right enjoy it.
Just BS'n about the iggy thing

Unnecessary in an urban environment? Interesting. My experience differs. Because of what I do, I'm often buying fuel at the Valero near my shop. There are always vagrants (nicest word I have at the moment) coming up and asking for something. I tell them no and to leave me alone. Sometimes, they start getting aggressive, but that magically seemed to stop on Nov 1.

Inside the store, one of the clerks I know well was trying to throw someone out of the store. He was arguing and making a scene. I came out of the restroom and the clerk asked me to help him. Not sure what he expected me to do, I didn't want to get involved for obvious reasons. I calmly said to the guy, "He told you to leave, if you don't you are gonna get arrested for trespassing"...dude headed straight for the door. Maybe he thought I was Le, I don't know. Whatever he thought, the result was a good one.... not only did he go outside, he left the premises.

I've had several opportunities to educate the curious, and haven't had a single negative encounter that I can think of. I have the feeling that after some of you see us do it, and nothing bad happens, you might soften your view on OC and try it a bit yourself. One thing I know for sure, you have to be on top of your game when OC'ing so you can be that good ambassador all the time.

Edited to add: Mostly nobody notices. Might be because I'm OC'ing a subcompact 9 in a black holster, or might just be that people go around with their head up their butts. Or both.
