Won the Lottery....

I was in Walmart tonight and of course checking the Sporting Goods area. I hate to admit it, but I am a fixture there and they guys all know me.

The main guy is sitting at his computer, looks up and sees me and says "hey, dave, Guess what I just got in? a couple of thousand rounds of that Federal 223."

"Wow, really?" I'm thinking, how could I have timed this any better.

"Nah, just messing with you."

Damn.....

He said that it is so bad that people are waiting at the store for the UPS truck to arrive and watching what firearms come off the truck.

I got 50rds of military brown-box 00 buck before closing time at academy (ALL other 2 3/4" 00 was gone but the sheeple missed this because of the non-descriptive boxes). I also (more importantly) got an entire case of 308win FMJ (500rds) and even found a box of 5.56mm Tracers even though i was told there was no 223/5.56 left in the store. To get the 308, I had to loiter and ask about 4 employees to check & re-check the back...I was told no without them even looking twice, then once a guy looked and came back with 9mm and said that was all they had but then FINALLY another guy said "are you sure, I thought there was a box left" and then he went back and I hit a lotto of my own That is my small victory for today (yesterday)...I simply did not have the energy to try to hit wal-mart too.

today when i was in walmart all i heard was folks looking for .223, .308, .22lr, and 7.62x39 and the walmart I was at didnt have any of it. watching all the looks of sadness and empty hands made me glad I buy my ammo online I just wonder how many reloading incidents there will be in the coming months because folks that couldnt find the ammo they wanted decided to go a different route.

The Monarch stuff is boat tail as well, it shot really well for me last weekend. That is the same way I found mine at the Academy in Norman, still in the mass shipping box. I just wish I could find some Federal Match BTHP stuff for my .308 and some target .308 as well, that stuff is hard to find now as well.
