I work in a sheet metal shop, and i like Urban Pipeline jeans (about $20 a pair from kohls.) They have lasted me anywhere from 2-4years for the pairs i just replaced earlier this year.

A day or two ago I would have said cheap Walmart jeans. I'm no longer so sure...Maybe expensive pants also payoff in the long run? I don't know.

Expensive, at least modestly more expensive pants, definately are worth it. Wearing cheaper pants out in less than a year...6 months even just doesn't cut it.

SMS how old are you? are you actually down in the footing tying steel?

Actually only in my mid-40's. Do a fair bit of tying steel and pouring concrete too...but nothing on the scale of the Hoover dam or anything. Big slabs and sometimes deep piers...

Small three man crews...even the Lead has to work!
