One of my old favorite movies and stories.

Reminds me of my late father. Not the movie. Just the first memories I have in life late 60s of my dads old bikes especially his big old Chief that he rode as well as his old Harley and all the other bikes we owned.

Great movie, one of my favorites. Did you know that the motorcycle that he used still survives, it was restored and was at the AACA show in Hershey PA a few years back.

yes it is an awesome movie.

here is a little fun story about that movie and how I heard about it.
My grandfather and I were traveling to Reno for Hot August Nights car show anyways we were crossing the salt flats when he asked ya wanna go out and see it. I said sure why not. So once we got closer to Wendover we pulled off and went out on the flats. we saw a big setup out there and said lets drive out and check it out. Before we got there we were stopped by security out there and said ya can't come any farther. They said what are ya doint out here. explained we were just taking a look at salt flats heading to Reno for the car show. They said well if your into that kind of stuff you will like what we are doing out here. He said I can't say too much about it other than it's a film set. We are making a movie about an Indian Motorcycle you should check it out when it comes out.

I know not as cool a story as some but at the time I was still a teenager and thought it was cool to be that close to a movie set. When we turned around to leave you could tell they were filming or testing at the time cause you could see I guess you could say a salt trail in the air.

Haa. I have a small Aframe mountain home and several small businesses in my home state of northern California as well as another shop in Des Moines Iowa. When not working I live in Oklahoma where my wife is from and works in her family business.

I travel I-80 back and forth constantly, going on about 13 years now. Going by the salt flats is my favorite part of the trip. I always daydream when I go by the flats of driving something out there some day. Seeing this movie just makes me want to do it even more so.

I had to leave a blown up Z-28 in West Wendover,NV once. I was on a trip to Cali from Iowa and instead of taking my 4x4 like usuall I decided to take the Camaro and have some fun out on those desolate Nevada highways. I didnt make it to Nevada, I blew it up the first time just outside Cheyenne about midnight. I some how patched it up and made it to Salt Lake City, crashed out in the car for a bit, woke up, patched it up again as best as I could and headed back out. Was blowing black smoke as I went by the lake, not a good sign, and by Wendover it had had it. I holed up in West Wendover on the Nevada side at a casino for a couple of days waiting on one of my employees to find a car carrier in Sacramento to come get me back home.
