Your right. You must not have MSNBC.

I'm just working off this thread. Cardsfan tells me that MSNBC has a policy in place prohibiting commentators from making these sorts of contributions. Fox has no such policy. Hence, the use of the words "ethical standards".
Sorry for the confusion.

I'm not sure that he'd fit in at Fox. I barely even know who the guy is. I don't even get MSNBC, but evidently they have ethical standards that don't exist at Fox.
Good for them.

Really, ethical standards? Oh, you don't get MSNBC so I guess you wouldn't know. I get it, but don't watch because of what I have seen of their ethics and I wouldn't say they are set to any standards.

We're looking at one specific example of one specific employee being disciplined for an ethical infraction that would go unnoticed at Fox News.
I say that based only on information posted in this thread.

And I got my information from here:

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/olbe...ing-political-contributions/story?id=12069567

In a statement, MSNBC said its ethics policy bans journalists from making political contributions.

I wold argue both stations are pretty low on ethics, for media organizations, but that's just me.

Every source is going to say the same thing about Olberman. I'm not disputing that. It's just the whole pot/kettle thing I'm talking about.

EDIT: If anything it's worse than that. The guy at MSNBC is admonished for something that would not have been an infraction at Fox. "ETHICS," rules. That kind of stuff. Plus the actual will to enforce them.

Olberman is a hypocrite. He lambasted the Fox news parent corp's owner for donations, then turned around and did the very same thing. Worse, he personally commented on the election as it was unfolding and before. Murdoch didn't do that.

So if you think Fox is unethical, then what do you think of MSNBC? :disappoin

Trust me, if any of the Fox commentators donated to political campaigns, it would lead on every stations newscasts.

I think they both suck. This is a strong argument for throwing out your TV.
