Look...I'm not taking a side in this one. I have no desire to defend TM or GZ.
When I say question or detain I want plying that's what GZ did. My argument is that a neighborhood watch is supposed to observe and report. What illegal activity did GZ observe? TM sounds like someone with a chip on his shoulder and looks like he chose to fight the wrong person.
Both parties involved were wrong and a kid ended up dead as a result. There's no way this verdict comes out without SHTF.
Oh.....and just a little personal history:
My family has lived in this neighborhood for over 20 years. I assume that many of you have lived in your neighborhoods for a considerable amount of time as well. You probably look to protect that community as I do. I've run off plenty of door to door scammers. How many of you have had a patrol car pull alongside and question you when you were out for a run or walk? I have. This sq. mile addition is not a high crime area. This is not a low income area nor is it surrounded by one. All of the homes are on lots of .5 acres up to 15 acres. This is not an area that is ever regularly patrolled nor have I ever seen a patrol car parked in any driveway. I don't cut across properties, wasn't up at anyone's door, not acting suspicious in anyway, unless of course you consider tshirt/shorts/headphones and bent over sweating & breathing heavy criminal activity. But yet for some reason police were notified and I'm questioned after being here for 20+ years. That's a load of bullsh**.
Don't write me off as someone who jumps on the bandwagon to defend color. Don't think that I'm not informed enough to understand the situation. Don't think that I see only one side of the story. I've lived both sides of it and am willing to bet that most of the people here with overly strong opinions on the subject have not.
Suffice it to say.....again - the GZ/TM case is a mess. It never should have happened. Both parties involved acted improper and it resulted in a lid dying. Nobody wins.

If Zimmerman is acquited, he may still be within the age range to join the French Foreign Legion. They will give him a new name and country of origin.

Ummm, completely different situation & case man. You cannot connect the two. One case is a guy who overstepped his boundary as a neighborhood watch member & ended in a self defense shooting. The other was a woman who knew what happened to her daughter, hid the body, lied about it & still got off somehow. Completely different situations.
This is it in a nut shell honestly.
True, but her story is evidence and dead people tell no tales. Or testify.
You always have to question the defendant's story because they have a powerful motive to lie.
That's something a few people here don't seem to want to do.

Edit: The jury is to begin deliberations after lunch. Since this is Friday, they may reach a verdict this evening so that the sequester is lifted from them.
