Before 9/11, no one thought or would've ever believed it could happen. It took thousands of innocent lives being lost to wake us up as a nation and realize that we are no longer living in Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.
What's it going to take before people realize that the Chinese threat is very real? Will it take having a missile fired up our ass and tens of thousands being the result of our ignorance?
Do I believe it will actually come to that? I don't know but God, I certainly hope not. I've seen things happen within the past couple of years to which I never gave a moments thought so I daren't think or speculate what could be in store within the next 2-5 years.

Assuming that my opinion is correct, they have no choice but to lie.
If it was indeed a Chinese missile and it is made public, then a response of some sort is necessary to appease the public. Any good response would escalate the situation, therefore a more subtle diplomatic response would be a better choice as long as the public remains in the dark.
If it was in fact it was a missile, there's not a snowball's chance in hell that the government would make it known. The mass panic and fear it would create throughout the country, not to mention the area that would've been directly affected by the incident, could be catastrophic.
I think it was a sub launched missile. Who's, I don't know. Whomever's it was, it was just a test, because nothing went "boom".

I also think that if it was Chinese, our military systems were alerted and knew it was coming. Why do people think the military would share any of this with us, before or after the event? Either way not a big deal, except for the fact that it shows China is gaining technology in their weapons systems, if it was them.

Isn't that Yeoman insignia? I never saw any Yeoman in CIC, unless they were delivering the mail.
