I live close to the S Canadian River, and there are always big GAR and Drumheads beaching themselves on the sandbars. I don't know why, You never see a catfish do that..

I haven't heard anything about it. Just a few miles from the Red River. It wouldn't surprise me though, lots of huge gar in there. I believe theres been a few state record alligator gars caught out of there over the last 20 or so years.
