I am with ya. Except experience has shown me exactly how I would react if I had to shoot someone.

HMFIC said it best. I can't remember the exact post but it was something to the effect that I will train a certain way and think a certain way so I will act a certain way. Our LEO and military do it every day. Why should we, as conceal carry holders, expect any less from ourselves?

BTW, I hope you NEVER find yourself in the position of having to pull your gun on another person. It is a sickening experience.

Really sorry to hear that something has happened BB that took away your innocence, for lack of a better word, and thank you, I do hope that I never have to be put in a similar position.

I train regularly at my local club because your first reaction in a bad situation will hopefully not be something you have to stop and ponder, but a instinct reaction.

Because the person you are facing will most likely not have that stop and ponder hesitation, and that split second could cost a person their life.

Sorry to get so off topic guys.

"hey m fer, give me all your money... BAMM BAMMM" 30 seconds later... you people know exactly what to do... please...

Hmmmmm ... I didn't see where anybody said they know exactly what to do. I do see a lot of people saying that your mindset and the way you train will have a lot to do with the way you react.

Ersland seems to have made that point in spades ... he thought it was okay to go all cowboy up on those guys, then lie about how it all went down later and look where he is now.

ETA: Oh wait ... except for me ... and I do think based on my personal experience that I know what I would do ...

Well, at least we know now to STFU, something the Kernal has yet to learn.

If the guy wouldn't have tried so desperately to make himself out to be a hero and would have just said....."it's all a blur, I'll talk to you with my attorney present" he probably never would have been charged or at least been able to plea it down to nothing. But NOOOOOOOOOO, this moron had to keep running his mouth and backed the DA into a corner, his actions were criminal and claiming the kid was still alive forced the DA to try him for murder rather than desecrating a dead body.

Obviously you don't know the routine.

From OSA: Call 911. Stay on the phone with 911. Describe your attire, When leo shows up, with you on the phone with 911, listen and obey all instructions.
Tell the officer, That person tried to kill me and I acted in self defense to save my life. I will cooperate with your investigation fully, but right now, I'm too upset to answer questions. At that time call your attorney. Find an attorney that is experienced in this and put their number in your wallet before this chit ever happens.
Same lawyer that could help in a car accident for y'all that want to put a conspericy BS in this statment like the DA could use this against you. BS!
At the worst, expect to be arrested, cuffed, and spend some time in jail until you post bond.

KEEP YOUR FREEKING MOUTH SHUT!

LEO's in OKC are not required to make a verbal statement for 48 hours after a shooting incident.
Civilians have the same right as I understand it. The constitution backs this up. 5th ammendment.
Once the adrenelin and remorse things start to go away, and you have discussed the situation with your lawyer.......make a statement.

I'd start lying (poorly) and keep it up for several years.

Did I ever tell you about the time me and Shootin 4 Fun took San Juan hill with Teddy? We killed a lot of people with our ray guns, but we had to do it.
