will this apply to licensed armed private investigators too?

That is governed by CLEET regs and I haven't read of any law changes affecting that part of their regs. It will remain a gray area as it always has been, at least since the inception of the SDA. CLEET regs say armed PIs and SGs can only carry while "on duty" (and not going to/from) but that rule has been observed in the breach for quite a while. Most PIs of my acquaintance have an OK SDA card so as to be covered at all times as regards the laws and regs of CLEET and OSBI. CLEET has an annual meeting of their authorized instructors and schools so that will likely be when they update those folks so it gets passed on to the field with new classes.

Just got off the phone with Gov Fallin's office @ 3:20 this afternoon..

Young lady stated that at that time they had received 15 calls against the bill and 65 for it. Suspect this is NOT a done deal yet if the negatives flood the phone lines....

I also asked if there was to be a signing ceremony and she stated she thought there would be, but did not know of any plans as of yet....

I think we should still call and let her know this thing needs to be signed.........

What worries me is that more and more businesses will get tired of seeing cowboys running around that they will not post no open carry, but a no weapons, which would prohibit people like me from carrying concealed. What before was a non issue to store management may now become an issue.

Irrelevant to me. It merely separates the wheat from the chaff.

All you people that keep saying things like "cowboys running around" and "bunch of folks at Target carrying guns," did you stop and realize that currently there is only something like 3% of the OK population that have their concealed carry, and of those, how many actually even carry currently daily? Half? Now combine that with the number of people who will open carry. Take the poll here, out of 192 voters, 7 said they will regularly open carry, 150 said "sometimes" - let's take that to mean 10% of the time - that means 15. So out of almost 200 voters, only 22, or barely 10% will open carry. So we're talking less than one half of one percent of the population might open carry.

So, even if every single last open carrier on any given day were to attend an OU football game, the chances are still less than 1 in 10 will be open carrying. So drop the drama and find a logical argument.
