I see a lot of posts about carrying shotguns and rifles in your boat and I'm only assuming they would be loaded. Last I knew this was illegal unless the law has changed.

This. Last time I checked, all water impounded by a Corps dam was considered Corps controlled and the only allowance for a firearm was legitimate hunting purposes. Land around the water might be leased to the state, but the water wasn't.

Of course, legality and enforcement are two different things.

Does that include a shotgun or a rifle?

From what I'm reading in the SDA Title 21 1289.13, yes.
.......any vehicle wherein another person who is licensed pursuant to the Oklahoma Self Defense Act to carry a concealed handgun and is carrying a concealed handgun or has concealed a handgun or rifle or shotgun in such vehicle shall not be deemed in violation of the provisions of this section provided the licensee is in or near the vehicle.

I may be reading it wrong, though. I suck at legal-speak.
