Ah yes I was off, but not really. It's still a drop in the bucket and it's what THEY want. You'll always have someone come in and say but, but, you could get 50,000 hi-points for that!!

The redundancy made no sense. Right, it's just questionable to those that don't know any better, or haven't thought about why they would order these. Again, proven platform, proven round, while you may want to ignore the caliber, it's obviously a consideration to them. You seem interested in the quantity of sidearms where they seem interested in arming a specialized smaller demographic. I would seem to me that they are taking more steps to prioritize CQB scenario considerations.

It's hard to believe that some are questioning the serviceability and practicality of the 1911. 
I have serious doubts about the polymer frame of any of the plastic fantastics being serviceable after 40, 50 or more years. Plastic gets brittle with time. We already know that 1911s will be fine 100 years from now.

I guess the special unit is specializing in fighting against horse mounted units - because that's what 45ACP was designed for.
