We arm rebels and help them overthrow the Libyan government, then raise hell when they bomb our embassy, and its an act of war. But we accuse Iran of supplying arms to the Syrian government to fight their rebels, and thats somehow different.
Agreed, although to be fair, I don't think they bombed the embassy. They had the balls to march down there and take any fight that was awaiting them. They stormed and raized the embassy. The US is the one who bombs from above without possible harm, with robots even.
i'm amazed at how many people want our military to turn into murders. Sure, we may get 'justice' on the few who committed this act, but it's amazing, and sickening, how many people here seem so blood thirsty that they wouldn't care if men, women, children, most of whom had nothing to do with it died to satisfy their need for vengeance and to look strong.
What are we supposed to do? Hide our heads in the sand til they nuke us or (I know this is farfetched) attack us in coordinated terrorist attacks with dirty bombs? They sat and chant by the thousands death to America and even have a cute word for any non muslim (Infidel) yet by God we should be worried about their innocents. Can you show some of these innocents?
Why would the media want to show innocents? Innocents arnt interesting and they arnt part of the damn plan!
I know on my part, that has absolutely nothing to do with it. I preach all the time that we need to stop these incessant expeditionary wars and so-called "peacekeeping missions". Yet I always support a vigorous response to an actual attack, even if it's just a brief in and out incursion. This is exactly the scenario I fully support that option, if satisfactory diplomatic responses and reparations are not made by the host country.
In other words the level of U.S. response that could range from acceptance of a formal public apology and full cooperation in the pursuit of the criminals, to full scale bombings and military blockades that will negatively impact their country and by extension, their citizens, is fully within their control. Their hands are on the rudder of their fate, not ours.
I can't speak to the fact of whether or not they all truly want us dead, but here's a question:
If those in the Muslim religion really hate the West, and want us all "converted or dead", why do you not read account after account of them committing attacks on our people before WWII? I mean, their holy book has been around for centuries. Did they frequently try and attack Americans whenever they got a chance, and I just haven't heard about it? Or did the United States get a little too involved in their politics after the war?

There is nothing that can be said that will stop you from thinking that. But if you really think that everyone in Libya deserves to die for this then i truly pity you.
The leap from mob attack to terrorist attack is beyond comprehension and hardly worth considering. Terrorism is a real threat and killing masses of people who had nothing to do with this attack will ultimately do more to harm our efforts to stop terrorists than help it. Hell, look at how many otherwise sane people on this board are advocating for the deaths of thousands as retribution for the death of three.
Sure, we like to draw big distinctions between us and them, but when it comes down to it, everyone is only interested in revenge. If we kill those who aren't involved so as to 'send a message' then how are we really any different then they are?
