Wanenmacher Report.. What are you seeing out there?

I have to say I an a bit disappointed with the show. I have been wanting to go ever since I first joined OSA and read about it shortly thereafter. Wayyyy too many old guns. I speed walked down about 85% of the isles and only saw VERY few tables selling new handguns.

The best thing that happened during this trip was that my grandmother passed down 5 guns that belonged to her father. She had more but the good ones got ransacked by her anti-gun children (go figure). I still ended up with two Colt revolvers, one pre-war and the other shortly thereafter. I also got a single shot bolt action shot gun. The best "finds" of the weekend...

but...but, those are OLD guns. you must give them back and go buy some black plastic thing! j/k man, i love the classics and had an awesome time checking out the blackpowder and single action stuff. a table full of old smiths with worn cornered boxes gets my heart going.
i can fully understand why some people would not like the older stuff though. there is LOTS of it.

Sold a few guns, picked up some powder and 9mm bullets, going to get 1K of 45's today and maybe more primers and another K of 224's.
I made my profit so I am dropping my prices today to cost because I don't want to take them home with me!

From what I saw prices were all over the board. There were deals to be had and it looked like prices were coming down on many things. Of course there were the way over priced items too. There was reloading supplies around and prices were fair. I saw Ar uppers for under $500 to about $900 which runs close to what they were in November. I also would add that for the gun show goughers that were so over priced when things got crazy I did not even stop to look at thier tables. I remember who they are and what prices they were asking post December. They could have had great prices but lost my respect when they jacked all thier prices up. Pmags were up there but I did find some for $20.00 each. I got there at 9:30 and got right in.

There are some deals to be found. Yesterday I got an Aimpoint Comp M for $80, and a KAC 2-600m flip up rear sight for $60, among other things.

I was going back out today, but my back is just too messed up. 7 hours yesterday tapped me out. I'm sure glad I'm back in physical therapy.

My favorite over priced gun was an SKS, in a cheap Dragunov style bubba stock, for $1,600. It was on the upper level near the entrance.
