He drewed his gat, so i’s shoted him.
That still isn't what you said.Don't say: "I instructed (him) to exit the vehicle," when you probably didn't say that at all. Write what you told him to do: "I told him to get out of the car."
That's Jack Carr's advice for aspiring writers, along with write what you like to read. He also passed along some paraphrased advice he got from an old sergeant while he was in sniper school--Precision in language reflects precision in thought. Can't be taught. My advice to those that asked was always, "start reading everything you can get your hands on". If you don't read (a lot), you can't write.
True ... But the surprised part can apply to "the stupid" as well as "the inhumanity". You just never know ... She says as she sits here watching RoboCop. LolThat should never be in a police report. I never am surprised at the demonstration of man's inhumanity to man.
For God's sake ... Did you ask the damned lawyers why don't they take their own advice?? ****ers ... I swear no detail is too small to picked apart when it comes to lawyers. When I was writing memos to be read by attorneys, their preference was to be succinct: get to the point as quickly and with as few words as possible. And, as mentioned above, don't use a ten dollar word when the nickel variety will do; f'rinstance, use "use" instead of "utilize."
That still isn't what you said.
You laughed. I know you did.Kicked back in Lazy-Boy, had a snack watched some TV and went to bed....
Of course I did, just like my reaction showed. And I'm sure you did as well. You laughed. I know you did.
Probably ... Billy and Cynthia were the 2 youngest at home. I was LONG GONE by then. Home life at our house was NOT what it looked like from the other side of the front door, if you know what I mean.
I tell you what, some of the stuff I got from them made you wonder if they were literate at all. All I can figure is that they were getting paid by the word, or maybe by the pound...For God's sake ... Did you ask the damned lawyers why don't they take their own advice?? ****ers ... I swear no detail is too small to picked apart when it comes to lawyers. Lol
