Conflicted.... Card #2

You were forced out of your survival retreat by an incoming hostile army. Now on the run, food and water are low. You and your survivalist friends can barley stave off hunger by foraging. One of your friends comes to you in need of advice. His spouse decided she'll sell her body for supplies at the trade post, in order to feed the children. your friend is between a rock and a hard place and needs your input.
What would your advice be?

You know ... I've had this discussion with so many guys ...

A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. And there is no man on the planet that should judge her when it comes to taking care of the kids. He's probably gonna get to eat because she is willing to "work". Obviously, it's not like he can provide for them right now or she wouldn't be resorting to this.

Sometimes I wonder if a guy's aversion to this is because: 1. He thinks she might have some fun. (It's work ... it's her JOB to make some ******* think he's the best thing since Skippy Peanut Butter.) and 2. He feels inadequate because he's unable to provide in such a way as to keep this from having to happen.

I'm a realist when it comes to stuff like this. People gotta do what people gotta do to survive. It's not my place to judge them. God willing I will never have to walk in those shoes ...

As the leader of the group I would have to think hard on it.
Where would this type of thing end? other mothers in the group might need to feed kids too.
and then there are the kids.... do the ones with kids that can not "sell" them selves be allowed to pimp out the kids?
As a leader do you try and steer the group with morals and try and find another way or do you adopt a "whatever it takes to survive" attitude?
there are things that you might do that you can never take back and sometimes you can never come back from.

I know that my opinion is not the popular one because I've had this discussion with folks before but in the end, for me anyway, it has nothing to do with the survival of the group. This all comes down to providing for MY kids. And no "leader" is gonna tell me what I can and cannot do with regard to how I go about providing for my children. I will live with those things and will answer to whatever God put me in that hard position to start with.

I'm not sure I'm really a good "group" member. There is very little gray in my world, especially when it comes to providing for my children.

Don't get me wrong, I would never judge anyone for doing what they had to for their children. but as a father/husband I would have to explore what other directions we could go before resorting to selling sex.
but then again... in this situation you are probably down to two options as a group. 1. adapt and do what you have to do... to include selling yourself for sex. or 2. you become bandit and take what you need. if I was down to those two options then I would go with #1... you and your group might live longer.

Don't get me wrong, it would definitely be a "last resort" kinda thing. If I had to choose between that and stealing, I gotta say I'd prostitute myself out first. It is an honest living ... Those guys would be getting a service for their money ... LOL

I can't abide a thief. That's the best way in the world to NOT be around to provide another meal for your children and would be the absolute LAST thing I would resort to. In fact, while I'm sitting here fat, sassy and nice and comfy, I can say I would never steal. Ask me again after I've gone a week or so without a meal, am so thirsty I can't stand it and have watched my grandkids cry themselves to sleep every night hungry ... I'm not stupid. I can sit here and be all righteous and pompous now ... If I lived a life like some in other countries do now, I'm not so sure I'd be so devout ...

The other thing that would come from this if it was something I had to do -- those of the group who decided I was less of a person or any less worthy of respect or that I somehow now bring nothing to the table by doing what I had to do to feed my children would NOT be sharing in the "revenues" of my "income generation" ... Like I said, there are very few grey areas in my world.

It would be a terrible situation to be in, and it would be very difficult to watch children starve, so you gotta do what you gotta do.

That being said, if there were a couple of "whores" in the group already, you might as well make the most of it.
