Really it would be the other way around. I've been debating 300blk but the upside is I have 556 brass I could resize. But shooting .22 is cheaper and less time consuming.

.22LR is way less time consuming if you don't have ammo. I would go with .300 BLK right now and then get the .22 upper when .22 comes back.

Yes to both, but neither one is ideal imho. Typical loads for the 300 are 110-125 grain for velocity or 200-220 grain for sub sonic. Also, in my opinion a 300 blackout truly shines when SBR'd. To get the most benefit over other rounds, the 300blk begs to be used from a <10" barrel

I would not recommend 300 Blackout unless you reload. Ammo options seem very limited and what you can find is expensive. Just my 2 cents.
That being said, I do think it is a really cool caliber and I enjoy the reloading side of it.

I'm looking to reload anyway so I don't mind it but I don't see how a sbr is best. I don't have one so I don't know. But wouldn't a sbr be less accurate than a standard length?
