The Serial Number is 245,XXX so that puts it at or close to the last year of production 1939.

I wanted to teach kids with it but was concerned about them letting go of the hammer while pulling it back. After some testing, I don't think it will fire unless pulled all the way back and trigger engaged.

A time or two, I've thought about dropping it off at Dustin's for a thread job.

I have three or four of the single shots that has the charging handle at the rear. Never a problem with the kids. Some of them don't have the strength yet and we have to help them, but that is just part of the fun for me. I like these old 22's!!

Ive got a mdl 41 remmy. No SN, only a date code. Midway thru 1936 Remington started putting SNs on mdl 41s. So mine is one of the earlier ones. Ill post a pic when im home. Itsa a good shooting .22, good wood, good rifleing, bluing has turned brown.

Its my go to pest killer.

I am not sure. It was my grandpa's gun and he passed away when I was 4. My grandmother passed it down to me, but I was too young to have it at that time. It is in my fathers possession at the moment. I need to go ask him to get it out.

I had my dad's s&r bolt with a 7 shot detachable that was mint. Loaned it to my uncle in Edmond for skunk control, his house got broken into and it got lifted.

This one is far from mint. IIRC. (Its been 20 years at least) I think it says 1906 on the barrel.
