Sheriff to Announce South Carolina Deputy Ben Fields to Be Fired: Sources

by Craig Melvin
South Carolina authorities will announce Wednesday that Richland County Senior Deputy Ben Fields, the school resource officer who was caught on camera violently flipping a high school student in her classroom, will be relieved of duty, sources told NBC News.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is set to hold a news conference at noon to talk about the internal investigation over the Monday incident at Spring Valley High School in Columbia.

Fields, 34, was suspended without pay as a result of the incident, and the FBI, the Justice Department and state law enforcement are conducting separate investigations.

So now students know that police can't put their hands on them......great. So what is the consequence for refusing to leave the class when teacher tells them to?
What are the rules of engagement?

I don't know and I'm sure the kid is a real pain in the a$$ but you throw a 13 year old Jr. High girl to the front door of the classroom and win your own special prize.

Rules of engagement? That right there is the problem. Leave that line of thinking across the pond for our enemies.

Why the hell would the FBI and justice department be investigating this? Nevermind, we all know the answer. The future convict deserves an apology and a meeting with the POTUS to explain this was not her fault.

Ace will be here shortly with an apologistic argument and will blame Bush...

Oh wait.... no he won't.

Because until about a year ago police departments were doing a pretty ****** job of policing themselves.

Kids are shits. Kids with no proper parenting are even harder to deal with and they usually have a careless F*** the world mentality. There is always two sides of a story, we only saw one side, and briefly at that.

I figured someone would go there with my comment; to simplify for the challenged: there need to be clear rules that everyone understands about how the administration is going to deal with unruly students.
