Give me commodity prices over the past 15 years that mirrored oil prices and the subsidy wouldn't have to exist.
Granted I'm no expert but and it's not the same but........wasn't corn ~800 a few years back?... beef ain't cheap right now either. All those poor people can't afford good meat now.
EDIT: to your edit.... I didn't see that anyone is whining. However, to me I always feel the need to support local people that actually produce something, regardless of their profession, when you can. Weird sense of Oklahoma pride I know. Call me crazy.
