Never tried it before, but it seems to be popular. I used to use spray carburetor cleaner on my all my guns till I went to the Glock armorers school and said they don’t do that.

I don’t know if the reasons not to were Glock specific or not. Maybe because of some reaction between the polymer and the chemicals in the cleaner. I don’t know. When it was mentioned, the reaction from the instructor was like “this dumb*** did WHAT”. And I dropped the subject.

Heard of it, never done it. There are a ton of products available specifically made for guns, and since I don't normally clean more than 2-3 guns a week (and usually not that much) they are not that expensive. Just not worth the risk IMO.

Well, it’s also flammable and the chlorinated stuff is worse than the non chlorinated in terms of cancer causing chemicals. I’ve also read it will damage rubber and plastic parts so there is that to consider. I say it’s a no-no, at least for me.
