I keep hearing about how China is buying US land even here in Oklahoma. I don’t doubt this, however, I kinda want to look into this myself. Any ideas on how? Are there known shelll companies used in this process? I can’t imagine I’ll find results by going to the assessors page and looking for “people’s republic of China” in the owner search.

i read an article awhile back about how much property and which big buildings other countries own, you can probly google it. when you look at the tax roles look at the mailing addresses and of course it will be owned by some company and you can look up companies with the secretary of state website , you are correct though, all these holdings are hiden by shell companies, trust, lawyers, nonprofits, churches etc.

I'm in the process of buy 10 acres in Lincoln county and I can assure you the price of land out there is going up up up. I'm just waiting on the (older than me) gentleman to have the title brought up to date and get an original death certificate for his late wife. One farmer out there is willing to sell but he wanted to put in the contract that no pot could be grown on the property. Nope, not going to tell me what to do...why do you think I'm moving. Anyway he said him and others have been contacted by pot businesses wanting to buy. You can take that for what you think it's worth but I have a tendency to believe it with the way prices have gone up. Rumors around the county are out of state people are buying too because of purchases being made. Could be Chinese could be West Coast or East Coast people. That's who the rumors are about anyway.

Id be ok buying a property with no MJ growing as a condition. I'd just expect it to be priced accordingly
