While on my trip in Arkansas, I commissioned a bladesmith to make me a custom ulu. I have a cheap stainless version that I've used for years, but I have been looking for a better one for a while. When I asked the bladesmith if he happened to have any ulu's in his small shop, he said no. However, he had the start of one that could be configured to my specifications. The blade will be 1075Cr1 high carbon steel with a walnut handle. He said it would be completed and sent to me in a couple of weeks!

:patriot:
My parents brought me a tourist ulu back from Alaska in the 80’s, and at some point, I picked up a Knives of Alaska magnum ulu and have cleaned A BUNCH of deer with it. I’m really interested to see the one you have coming, because I might just need a custom one too. :thumb:

Here, but occasionally There.
When doing the road condition surveys, we occasionally come across a "record" (think section of a road) that has something to interrupt us from completing the full record in one pass. An example would be if a bridge on that record was out and being repaired, we would be first required to work the road up to the construction area. Then, the wife would "create" an "A" and "B" record for that record with the first part being the "A" record. Then, we would go around somehow to the other side of the construction area and back up to the barriers before starting the run of the "B" record. We have performed this maneuver several times over the four Summers that we have been doing this job.

Yesterday, we happened upon a totally different reason to do an "A" and "B" record. Look closely, and you can see the other part of the road on the other side. It is simply a narrow looking white streak in the distance that is to the right of the water tower.

This is a new lake just created within the last year and a half. It is called Bois d' Arc Lake and is just northeast of Bonham, TX. Even Google Maps doesn't show the lake unless one goes into the "satellite" view of Maps.

Just spent over an hour and a half scrubbing the bore on the Remington XP100 chambered in 7mm-08 this morning that belonged to my buddy that passed away about a month ago.......he didn't use it much because he found after purchasing it that he preferred TC Contenders for silhouette competition.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that it wasn't clean.......it just wasn't clean enough to suit me.

I need it like I need another hole in my head but I haven't made up my mind yet if I'm going to advertise it for sale or go ahead and give his wife some money and keep it for myself.......I know it's accurate because I shot his pet loads for him and it'll keep five rounds at 100 yds. in a pretty tight cluster off bags with Speer 145 gr. bullets.

I don't need it.......I don't need it.......I don't need it. :)

The boss just informed me that she wants to go to OKC this morning to do a little Asian grocery shopping and maybe grab a bite to eat while we're up there........it looks like the rest of my morning and part of the afternoon just got planned for me.

You should keep it ..... You should keep it ..... You should keep it.

It's not a matter of need ..... It's not a matter of need ..... It's not a matter of need.

Been living in the red ever since buying my chunk of McIntosh county: Used Kawasaki mule; new Aluma trailer; DR Power brush mower; Redneck game winch, 65 gallon UTV sprayer. We leave for OK on 01 October. I need to figure out where we are staying (two weeks) and how to load all of the above on the trailer. Rat-**** straps for sure :-). Maybe after rifle season, I’ll start saving for retirement again!

Morning fellas!! My Friday is here! Whoot whoot!! 😍 Except for a couple of doctors' appointments this week I am free and clear. Gonna play around in the garden some and do my usual house cleaning stuff -- but right now I'm gonna go enjoy a beer on the patio (yes, I know. No I don't care. 😁 Grumpy's sleeping in so I'm in the free and clear. 😉😛😎😂)
