"Possession Of Cds Within 1000 Ft Park Or School (Rss)"

Man I had CDs in my car alot when I was in HS. That was right before MP3 players became so prevalent. What do they expect the guy to do, listen to cassette tapes???

I figure you're joking, but for those that may not know the lingo, it's possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

If these guys presented themselves in a hostile manner and looked like the one in the mug shot (racist/gang related tattoo visible), I'd probably preemptively draw down on them. Guess that's just the LEO in me talking though. Life's too short to let scumbags like this feel powerful in picking a 2 on 1 fight that might leave you in the hospital or worse.

I find it interesting that the news called it a road rage incident. This outwardly appears to be two scumbag druggie losers who wanted to pick a fight. That they happened to be on a public roadway at the time does not in itself qualify this as a road rage incident.

My thoughts exactly. I think this case is walking the tight-rope of self-defense and excessive use of force... He might have got his butt kicked, but no telling if it warrants someone being killed. My personal thoughts are pretty much with the consensus though, they messed with the wrong dude and got theirs.

Getting into a fist fight is risky business. I've seen too many fights that turned into the losing party either losing their life or ending up disabled for life to take that chance.

No offense, but in my opinion, these days, there is no such thing as a butt kickin'. Anyone who is willing to use physical violence against me in any form- solo, paired, gang, weapon or not, I am going to respond however I need to in order to guarantee my safety.

A punch or kick can easily lead to the same result as a hit from a bat or a bullet from an assailant's gun. If I get knocked unconscious, I am at the mercy of an attacker who may very well cause me severe bodily harm or even kill me as I lay defenseless. Thus, I feel I am justified in using deadly force if necessary to stave off even an unarmed attack from a single attacker if they attack me.

Not to start anything or muddy the waters, but how does "stand your ground" play into this? Does it not apply?

It sure as hell should. A brother has a right to pull over and add a quart to his harley about anywhere. In all seriousness, I don't know why it shouldn't. To me it looks like he did everything right.

It's my understanding (which could very well be wrong) that it applies to you anywhere you have the legal right to be. But from some of the statements in this thread maybe it's something else?
