Rut appears to be done in my area anyway. Starting Wednesday the does started grouping up again and feeding in daylight, the bucks are feeding near each other without any fighting. Only heard two shots this morning myself. Neighbor shot two coyotes.
Sat in the stand all day. Zero activity until an hour before the last shooting time. Ended up with 18 does and 3 bucks in the milo field I'm sitting over. The bucks were dinks, but they weren't chasing does.

Thing is, we saw no real rutting activity until Wednesday morning. If rut is over here, that is the shortest rut I’ve ever seen. I’m thinking it’s like Okie said....a lot locked down today. Hoping that means they will be cruising in the morning.

Hope so. My game cams are showing lots of big bucks noctournally. Nothing in the daylight, except one, and the wind was wrong to get in there today.

We haven’t seen anything except for one doe walking with her tail at half mast and nothing following her
We have only seen 5 does about 300 yards out and they edged the field staying in the trees, my son thought he saw a buck before sunup but he said it was far away and running hard.

A lot more activity here this morning. Saw 2 mature bucks dogging one of 5 doe 450 yes out before good light. Had another mature buck with only his left side cruise by 15 mins ago. Son in law saw 2 little bucks chasing a fawn earlier.

A lot better than yesterday morning.

We moved into the trees about an hour ago and we saw a group of 5 bucks having fight club but they are stay in the thick brush, I could have got one but I would rather my son shoot his first deer before I shoot anything this year. He's 15 and this is the first year he has wanted to shoot something without feathers, although he has shut up about how good duck hunting would have been this morning.

Got this guy yesterday morning. Had trail pics of him and a much larger buck for the last couple weeks. Hunted hard with the bow for the last week and decided to break out the gun yesterday morning. He has some cool split tines! Now, back to the bow to get the bigger fella before he leaves town.
