I don't think I remember a bear over this far before, has there been? I figured it was someone's 'pet' or something.
Years ago, I saw a bear track up over the hill in the woods behind my house. It was either a bear track or the biggest, squarest dog print I've ever seen. Never saw a bear to go with it, though.

OMG - the comments on the media articles on this that are on my FB page are overflowing with Wailing Wilmas so totally overwrought about why couldn't they sedate and relocate the bear, choosing instead to just KILL IT! Facts be damned - let's let tear ducts and hurt feelings rule until the day when the bear eats their little Fluffy while the dog is pooping in the backyard. Then they'll be down on ODWC about "their bear" attacking defenseless little fuzzball canines.

A couple here appear to think it was handled incorrectly. Not quite as bad as wailing Wilma.
