I remember reading about Col. Kittinger's achievement some years ago. It's amazing what the man endured to make the jump, including a poorly sealed glove, without saying anything because he knew the mission would have been scrubbed otherwise. Today, that wouldn't work. Col. Kittinger has some brass ones. He continued his military service after that jump, flew combat missions in Vietnam and ended up a POW in Hanoi. Now he's working as a tech advisor for this project. Amazing life.

Very cool. I think they ought to strap that flying squirrel outfit on him that the gorge jumper guy uses and see if he can make it to the East Coast :)

Watching this as well.
It wold be similar to the first pilot to break the sound barrier. Nobody knew what was going to happen.

I'm thinking with todays science, they know, but it makes for a good story.
