just got done shootin my AR. shot first with the Aimpoint red dot sight then took it off and put the Nikon Prostaff on. was using xm193 ammo. could probably do better with the red dot, but ill wait till another day. just gettin somthin to eat now and then im gonna head back across the road and shoot the .308. ill post pics of that when i get back.

oh yea, and the farmer that leases our land put some cattle out there last week and they destroyed my wooden spool that i usually use as a table to shoot from. i just had to find a clear spot with no cow patties to lay down and shoot. lol.

Outta staples in staple gun so I used a recycled target that was already hung on the board. Quarter is for reference since I don't own a micrometer.

Side note I get about 2 moa with the german Weichkern surplus that I've been doing break in with, but the American eagle is the **** in that rifle. Haven't shot 175grn yet, curious to see what they'll do.

If those are 1" squares - that group measured 0.426" !!!! If that's really at 100 yards, it is simply mind blowing ... so much for freefloating handguards ... hahahah

It is impressive, I know. Free floating handguards are overrated. My Remington 22-250 sps varmit, bone stock without free floating, stock shoots sub moa all day with cheap 50 grain remington hollowpoints.

Why the question of "if it was at 100 yds"? I don't need to BS anyone and I'll be glad to post a coffe can sized group from one of my AKs when I get back this weekend if it'll make ya feel better.

I didn't mean it that way ... sorry. You simply didn't state the distance. You don't see groups like that at 100 every day - nor do you see birdshot at 100 either.

You are a very lucky man - people spend 4-5K on bolt guns to get that kind of performance, let alone with factory ammo.

No offense taken. My bad for not posting distance, thought it was understood that it was supposed to be 100yd targets only. Its a 500yd range, with target boards and plates every 100 yds and you can drive from one end to the other to set up targets and such. Jackasses are always shooting the hell out of the boards with shotguns, prolly patrons kids. Gotta friend of mine that has a 18" LR 308 that shoots sub moa all day with federal .308 168gr bthp match, which is what prompted me to buy my LR308. DPMS ftw!!

went and shot again and it really sux laying down in the hard dry as a bone grass poking me everywhere! lol. i can do better groups, so ill try again this weekend after i find another table to shoot off of since the cows destroyed the other one.

Get you a shooting mat. You can get pretty decent ones from Midway for $25 or a good one for $50. Or the Po' Boy option is get about a 3'x6' roll of scrap carpet. They work well too.

First (and best it turns out) 5 shot group from Sunday. Cold bore is the high hole.

[Broken External Image]

Rifle is an AR with a 16" mid length Rainier Select 1x8 SS barrel, Geissele SD-C
trigger and Weaver 3.5 X 10 scope.

Load was 75 gr. Hornady BTHP and Varget.

[Broken External Image]

Groups went down hill. 102 deg with no shade will do that.
