Given the 2 does now allowed during muzzleloader and gun (in most counties) plus the chance at holiday doe, I'd figure a 3:1 ratio at least.

Confirmation this evening that my #1 survived this season. Here is to looking forward to next fall!

And my #2 survived as well. He had a rough season. Last I saw of him was around Christmas with multiple battle wounds all over his body. Lacerations, punctures, skinned spots and a limp. He was so beat up and so much time passed with no pictures that I thought he had succumbed to his injuries. I was happy to see him alive and well, having only lost an antler.

Well I’m hardly contributing anything lately since Tapatalk doesn’t work anymore. Finally got some time so here’s how my season ended up. Got my big 9 finally. Was chasing a deer with 2 drops all season and I took my ol’ lady to get on a big 8. I went and sat a spot that had little deer activity and was basically just waiting for her to shoot. He came out at 20 yards and I let him walk. Couldn’t believe I did and said to myself if he comes back I’m taking him. Sure enough he came back and I took him quartering away with a 300wsm at 60 yards. Biggest entry hole I’ve ever seen. Scored 141 3/8. 2 days earlier the youngest took a nice one with the 30-06. It was actually a very tough season. Had 25 sits with the lady and she never got it done. We had some really big deer survive and hopefully find their sheds this next month.

Congrats @Bowhunter, looks like you and the boy got some nice deer. Our year was similar, lots of sits but numbers were down. My son and I never saw a decent buck while hunting.

Yes that’s the entry. I imagine I hit a rib just right. Winchester Ballistic silvertips 150grain. Always been the best accuracy hunting round I’ve came across if you don’t load your own. They always seem to shoot the best out of all my rifles.
