Thanks for sharing. This has been an interesting rabbit hole. Can’t wait to get out and try it.It is the 21" tapered carbine factory TC barrel. It is the 2nd one i've owned in that configuration, and although pleasant to shoot, neither the current one or the first one shined in the accuracy department....good enough to hunt with , as i am NOT a long range guy, with most shots on critters taken at 100 yards or less, so has been adequate for that use.
I did notice in both cases i had better accuracy with lighter weight bullets when sticking with powders on the fast side of the burn spectrum..i had acceptable accuracy with stuff like Vv-N120, Norma200, Accurate 1680, etc. Always wanted a stainless tapered custom 7TCU that was properly throated for bullets in the 115-120 weight class, instead of the excessive throat length found in most factory pipes.
Some data i stashed away...this one is from an article which was either in Handloader or Rifle Magazine, author built a Rem 700 in 7TCU...and those speeds seemed overly optimistic, my 21" factory barrel was 100+ fps slower when i tried some of those.
