I went to shoot yesterday to get my drops at 200-300 and 400 yards.
I forgot my ammunition for my 5.56 AR.
At least I had my 30-06 and my 18" barrel .308 I got the drops for the .308 but the 30-06 needs a barrel cleaning as I have been shooting 155 A-Max and also shooting cast loads in it.
It shot terrible yesterday at 200 and 300 yards I shot a couple at 400 and normally it will shoot under 4" I got over 12"..

Not every day turns out swell.

But the .308 held tight in the 25 MPH winds.
Really wanted to test the AR and the trigger mods.

Yea at least I did not just have to drive back home empty handed.
I mostly needed drops for the .308 as the bullet does not follow the advertised BC at all.
It is a 155 A-Max and seems to fly better than the numbers predict.
100 yard zero.
10" down @ 300 yards and 25.7" down at 400.

With my Tasco target varmint 6-24 scope that makes it 1 mil @ 300 on 10 power and 2 mil at 12 power at 400 yards

My 200 yard is 1/2 mil at 12 power.

I did not go for 500 yards, got tired of walking.

I actually circle the impacts on the paper walk back to shooting area and look through the scope and find the circled area and adjust power until a mil dot lines up with impact point.

That has worked really well for me

Where did you go that was 76 miles away? Not Banner Rd, I guess. Sounds like a little lead fowling will spread out the group size. Following with interest as I hope to get into medium and long range shooting someday but don't even know where the good ranges are. You can't take too many different firearms to the range.

I went to a friends property in Asher.
Copper fouling will do it also. It is a mix of the 2 I would bet. got some pretty blue coming out of the barrel as we speak.

I only shot 2 rounds each from the .308 at 300 and 400 yards, Off the top of my car for a rest.
Each of the 2 rounds were sized in a different die.
Testing which die was better.. kind of a draw.
Wind really blew the 400 yard, still in the 3" area and the 300 yard was .900" center to center.. just 2 rounds though.

This savage .308 is not too picky.
