A crack dealer - at least that's the excuse given by the poor teens that were ripped off by him. You can't make this sh*t up.

One of the 16-year-olds charged in Washington state with the killing of a World War II veteran reportedly suggested Tuesday that the attack came after the veteran shorted him and another teen on a sale of crack cocaine.

Police discovered the drug-dealing claim in a letter they found after they arrested Kenan Adams-Kinard early Monday morning, Spokane County deputy prosecutor Larry Haskell said.

Haskell said the letter contends that Adams-Kinard and Demetrius L. Glenn, 16, were buying crack cocaine from Delbert Belton, 88, when the attack occurred Aug. 21.

Okay, thought exercise. Hypothetically, if this were true and happened in Texas rather than Washington, is it possible that the assailants would get off due to Texas's law that allows "use deadly force to recover property during a nighttime (dark out?) theft." Remembering that the Texas has ruled that it's okay to kill a prepaid prostitute that fails to perform.

Would the same apply to "crack dealers?"

First, I don't think that the hooker "failed to perform".
She took that money first and then tried to scoot away.
That was the theft and recovery of property aspect in the case.

Second: so it is OK for a 15 and 16 year old to using and buying crack?
and use that as an excuse for murder?
Damn, I wish I had known that when I was 16.

Well, another dope dealer off the streets. Good riddance. These youngsters need to be treated well, they've obviously done society a favor. Probably get them some drug counseling, and on they go to become model citizens.
I hope they turn out better than Belton did.

okay, she took his money for prostitution and didn't render her services. Theft

he supposedly took their money for drugs and didn't render his services. Theft (supposedly)

Last I checked buying a prostitute is still illegal, but it's okay
to use that as an excuse for murder?

The lady in question was an escort, so on-paper, there was no prostitution (and the dumbass that hired her and paid up-font technically paid for an escort and not a prostitute).

Seems like the TX case was more incompetent buyer than stolen property, but I dunno, breech of oral contract (no pun intended). In the case of the Crack-dealer/vet incident - the accusation is legal genius as it actually puts the victim in an "on-paper" criminal status. Not saying it's true (or not), but if it's not true, then the lawyer for the teens should be given the next OJ trial - as he's essentially the Lex Luthor of lawyers.
