A $149.95 window unit from Lowes kept the bedroom livable.

Even if the main AC is working,,,
A cheap window unit is like having a spare tire in your trunk.

The unit is 7 years old. Hasn't been cooling like it should, on these hotter days. Was feeling like it needed freon added. Then this.

All breakers are good. Nothing tripped.

I operated a Fluke Authorized Service Center, but never worked with A/C. My problem now, is breathing with this heat.

Should be information on taking temperatures on the internet. Return air, supply air( vent register). See what the temperature difference is. Should be close to 20° difference.
It's just a start but it should be close if unit is charged correctly. More temperature and pressure is needed to correctly diagnose. Suction pressure, discharge pressure, ambient temperature, house temperature, return and supply temperature.

Looks like our evaporator coils and possibly compressor are going bad. Have a recommended guy coming to look at in the morning. If it is the compressor, my home owners will cover a replacement. (Prayers that it is)
