can anyone help guide me in the right direction, my wife wants a crossbow for her birthday, does anyone have a wife, daughter, mother etc who has a crossbow, please help me pickout one to buy her, lets say $600 max price less is good also, shes not a hunter just wants it for SHTF or zombies, she likes the stealth aspect, soo she needs to be able to operate it by herself, thanks

Ian, I got a good one from Academy 300fps, with a red dot. it was bad a$$$$ just over 200 bucks, it was the real deal not crap.

You can get real good ones for 350 or less. 600 is ALOT!!

Just buy ALOT of bolts... dont settle with the 6 they usually come with, they get trashed pretty easy, unless you buy a good target, and DONT miss!!

You may want to look into a hand crank one too, those boogers are kinda hard to rack.

If I were you, I'd go someplace like http://www.crossbowforum.com/ for starters. It doesn't appear to be very highly populated, so it might not be all that valuable, but it's a start. I'm sure there are others out there.
