The only time I ever wore a scarf was when we were on the farm/ranch and had to care and feed critters every day. Being out feeding, checking, and hauling water kept a guy outdoors quite a bit.

Hard of hearing so in a tree stand I would use a wool scarf to keep from wearing a hoodie. If temps were really bad you can wrap your nose and mouth as well and keep the ears uncovered. Had one for years issued by Uncle Sam and when it wore smooth out my wife knitted me a couple.
