Advice on summer carry gun?

I'm not a fan of .380s, so I'd go with a S&W Shield 9 or 40. Each is less than an inch wide, the 40 just holds 1 less round in its mag.

Everyone these days seems to want 9mm. I've been carrying a .38 spec since '73.......never felt under -gunned. I grew up in NYC and In those days everyone carried .38 or smaller. At that time NYPD carried .38's. Can't remember one member of the Chase Manhattan Bank Rifle and pistol team that carried anything else.in those days in NY you had to have a club affiliation with political clout to get a permit in NY.don't know how it is now. Anyhow I own 1911's and .357's but most days I carry my 638 Airweight .
