JB - I'm with you. I worked in Saudi Arabia waaay back in '80-'81. I met and worked with some really great Arabs, Jordanians, Egyptians, Lebanese, Syrians, Sudanese, Ethiopians - you get the idea. They are wonderful people. A few of the mullahs that got out and saw the western world, I think, are afraid of loosing their strangle hold on the populace and began to radicalize the young.

Power corrupts.

Tran, you should care because they are probably mostly innocent people and despite our differences, they are God's children. It's too bad the air strike didn't take out the Islamist theocrats who seek to destroy our way of life. It's easy to lump them all together, but unless they have given aid and comfort to the enemy, they are just people.

What would be awesome is if the Arab people as a whole threw off the shackles of the extremists and embraced a way of life centered on God and respect and dignity for their fellows.

JB, while I do not share your religious convictions, (and that's okay as long as you keep your church out of our State) I agree that we should care when this sort of thing happens.

While I consider it unlikely, I still hope to see a real change in the Middle East that will provide the freedoms that all people deserve.

The practical reason for concern is that every event like this brings us closer to intervening in their civil war, with the obvious likelihood of a "no fly" zone being enforced.

Whoever said we are sending the Syrians billions needs to research that . . .

Let's not get crazy, I thinks we should limit the amount of bread you can buy, maybe just like 4 slices instead of a whole loaf. And you have to register the amount of bread you have. That should fix it.
