please link me these studies...

http://feinstein.senate.gov/05speeches/ethanol-oped.htm
This link refers to a detailed study found in this file
http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.170.8208&rep=rep1&type=pdf
I have also read an MIT study and one from a California college (CalTech?) that basically say the same. If you follow the original link I posted you will see that even Gore that did it to us now admits that it is a bad idea.

if you have a noticeable loss of power you have larger issues such as all that crap in your gas tank or fuel line that has been neglected, or your injectors that have 200k+ on them and never been serviced or checked, maybe that carbon build up in your motor, and the dirt in your intake manifold...

I take care of my cars which led to me to think at the time that the problem was the O2 sensor getting sluggish. It was not. The fact that both mileage and power return when I use real gas proves my point. All engines are not affected the same way. Many motorcycles including hogs seem to be more vulnerable than others. Glad you like it.
considering ethanol can be made from more than just corn
I am against using food for fuel. If somebody wants to make ethanol from other sources and I don't have to subsidize them and I am not forced to use it, I don't care. Let them have fun.
list of things that america needs to get away from in your list - corn syrup, fructose, etc.
I don't appreciate others deciding what is good for me. This is America, the land of the free.

"In the energy industry, the need for change is no longer debatable."
For an article that starts in such a biased manner, I'm surprised it is actually good.
I don't see a need for change. Gasoline packs more energy than the equivalent amount of TNT allowing us to travel without frequent refueling stops. Oil produces lubricants, medicines, insecticides, an endless list of useful products.
The US has more oil than Saudi Arabia. The well that caused the spill in the gulf, was pumping at close to 40K barrels plus natural gas. A phenomenal rate, no well in Kuwait can equal that. Now capped.
