It was meddling of a sort, but US citizens meddling in US elections (even from other Congressional Districts) is much less sinister than foreign powers meddling in US elections. Having said that, other types of foreign meddling - in the form of huge donations from foreign "donors" to certain Democrat officials and their associated foundations seems to escape the scrutiny it deserves.

IIRC, both Bill & Hillary accepted donations from foreign source(some had to be returned(China?)) during Bill's term as Prez and the contributions to the Clinton Foundation and pay-for-play with SOS Hillary. Also IIRC, Obama had a large number of donations from unknown sources that has never been resolved.
