Just heard on the Wednesday night news that the "shooter" as he dubbed himself before opening fire, stole the AR from someone he knew and experienced several stoppages, jams and malfunctions during his attack on the Oregon mall. I get the impression neither he or the weapons owner knew about semi-automatic rifle maintenance. I would be so proud to hear of some citizen, off duty LEO, armed service member, security guard or the like leaning out slightly from behind cover and dumping say , half a pistol mag into one these miscreants while he is frustrated with an unexpected weapon failure.

So you think that the Federal government applying the 2nd Amendment against the states under the 14th Amendment was "giving the Federal government more power"?

Once again, no..

Saying that is their problem and not caring are not the same thing. They have the same rights as I do. It is up to them to stand and be counted. I am not against a federal cc law, i am against trading for it.

No - we do not want to take away from the states their control over firearms law and give national pre-emption to the feds. No. Not now. Not EVER!

I think you're misinterpreting. I'm not talking about a national preemption law. I'm talking about a reiteration that the 2nd Amendment is a right of The People, not the States. I'm talking about using the U.S. Dept. of Justice to sue states and cities to restore the rights of American citizens in those places where ownership and carry rights are denied. How sweet an irony would it be to force Eric Himpton Holder to stop trying to ban guns and start supporting their ownership and use?
