Oddly enough, another website that checks out internet and e-mail stories, truthorfiction.com, does not have a story about this guy. While I can not say one way or another whether Snopes is entirely on the up-and-up, I have heard rumors that they are left-leaning politically.

This was a "local" story about the incident and with comments about the alleged sexual assault.
