I just got a PTX insert in order to use my 45 dillon dies with my powder cop. I have the correct belling but I was wondering if anyone else has/had a problem with sticking cases. Any PTX users out there?

PTX is the powder through expander insert that goes into the measure. I've given up on this thing and am selling my dillon dies and going with a seat/crimp in one die.

Powder thru expanders of all makes have a tendency to "stick" if adjusted improperly. I seat and crimp 38's and 357's in one die, everything else I use 2 dies for seating and crimping. I started using a powder cop die when loading 357's when I was new to the press. After several thousand rounds I find it is not needed if you are even a little bit careful. My suggestion would be to lose the powder cop die and use a separate belling die.
YMMV

I keep saying powder cop although I mean rcbs lockout die. No matter how the linkage was adjusted, it stuck terribly. I used a scotchbrite on the bell end to no avail and will definitely not use case lube as suggested on other forums. I have previously used a separate seat/crimp die while loading on my turret but went with the lockout/combo setup on my lnl to load a bit faster without sacrificing safety.

Why do you not want to use case lube?

When I was shopping for a progressive, the Hornady LnL AP didn't offer the ptx which ended up keeping me from buying it. I wanted size/expand&charge/powder check/seat/crimp. Naturally, as all things happen with me, it was incorporated a couple of months after I bought a Dillon.

FWIW, the XL650 uses powder thru expander and works great, IMHO. It should work just as well on the Hornady.
