I did run across something sort of gun related today. My wife has a small salt & pepper shaker collection left to her by a relative. Looking thro them we found a couple look like they were made from old rifle cases or something. Headstamp is S L 42 but they are to big to be 30.06 blanks. I will post pics soon as I get this old tablet thing to work.

Taking a WAG, IMHO they were made from 50BMG brass, St. Louis ammunition plant and made in 1942.

Could be. So far I have only managed to get photos of the tops because the battery is dead on the tablet. I took the pictures, I just can not do anything with them. Maybe tomorrow.
