Headstamp is pretty much a match to the ones on my post for 50BMG St. Louis Ordnance brass. IMHO, they were probably nickeled after they were made into the S&P shakers.

To me, it looks like the outline of Australia over a V and I think maybe a kangaroo in the middle. It is hard to tell but that is what it looks like with a magnifying glass.
Yup, I could just barely make out the kangaroo.
They might be S&P’s for the 6th Australian Infantry Division during WWII?

Picked up a Choate aluminum needed stock for my Stevens 200 project action. Now that I have the action, bolt, stick, bottom metal, mag, bipod, optic I need to get serious about caliber and barrel. I’d love a carbon fiber brl but that’s out of the price range so I’ll be looking at something with flutes to cut down on weight and it will be threaded so I can throw a 6” can on when I want. Probably a timber trigger and the Savage cylinder style bolt handle, some glass bedding for good measure, and I will paint after proofed. Off course I started on this idea a while back and it will probably be a while to fruition.
