I was able to meet up with @Coopsdaddy yesterday on this all metal stainless 10/22. The stock was cut down and it needed a disassembly and thorough cleaning. Got this older replacement stock this afternoon from @finishnailer and put it back together. Going to order a scope base, extended mag release, and possibly a stainless barrel band.

Turned out well. Thank you for all the help fellow OSA’rs!

Marlin 336 in .30-30. Serial number shows born in 1974, so there is no slide-safety. JM stamped, of course.

The guy priced it low. So low I gave him a chance to change his mind - "Seems a bit cheap. Are you sure on the price?" He affirmed, so I bought it. Didn't even quibble. I'm not going to tell you what I paid, but it's substantially less than these are going for.

However, it's not all beer and skittles; the rifle has some problems. Some scratches on the receiver; side and top, and the scope mount screw hole inserts are missing-

I wasn't looking for one of these, in fact I've been trying to not buy any more firearms, in order to fund my first suppressor.

It was just too cheap to pass; I suppose I can live with it.

My InLine Fabrication mount and quick change plates for my FART M-Press and Lee Bench Primer tool came in today. Big shout out to @1911Sooner , @foghorn918 , and @scott024 for helping me deck my workbench out in stickers! The rest of the stuff for brass prep should come in this week so I should be able to start pressing my own ammo very very soon!
