My health insurance coverage is nearly doubling. 1/3 of the increased cost is the fact that my wife is now working, so the charge me an extra 910 a year to carry her, decieving when looking at the cost for family as thats not factored in. Not only that, most of my deductibles and maximums, and urgent care visits are more expensive, although my primary care doc will be a few dollars cheaper. Frustrating when your trying to make ends meet, and you see your insurance costs go from about 3500 a year, to 6500 a year. Also had to make sure all my same docs were available, since we also switched from Aetna, to UHC.

Im glad I am not the only one having to deal with this. Insurance rates have been on a significant rise every year for a long time. It seems like the last 10 years or so it has just been getting out of control. Seems to be everything always goes up except wages.

yours went up to more than mine now....I think mine was just a touch under 5k...all deductibles went up, all copays went up and cost went up...and I think I got stiffed on some of the discounts...

Yep. This has been happening for quite some time now (at least to us) ... fewer benefits, higher premiums every year. In another 10 years I figure one of us will have to go to work for an insurance company to be able to afford coverage. :disappoin

Yeah, discounts are different this year, so thats pre-discount. Also, I have an additional 910, since my wife is now working and is able to sign up through her job for insurance. Its a pain in the ass to carry two plans, one for me and kids, and one for her. Since her open enrollment hasnt opened up, I have no idea what kind of coverage she can get or at what cost. It's f'n ridiculous. I may have to switch from republican to libertarian, or even anarchist. State of this country and world is ridiculous. We were reading some letters from a 3rd grade class going into a care package to the 'stan, and there are 3rd grader's who couldnt spell their names! Their parents get to vote in our current elections, and when we are too old to take care of ourselves, we will be relying on these kids!
